Stephens County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

John Barry, 23-2N-6W.

That section is just on the edge of the condensate play for the Woodford. It is on the Cruce anticline.

You may not be rich in all things but you are in some…your sweet family for one…but before long you may be rich in royalties when your ship comes in. Just stash it back because if the Poteets go down as fast as the Branches have you’ll need it. Hopefully they won’t.

Oceana, according to unknown source is producing a little over 5000 mcf per day. Rig count may not be down in scoop, but only 1 rig left in 1N 5W.

K Dawn,

oops, bad me. I saw the 1S 4W and typed it in my query instead. LE Jones is in 1S 4W, not 1S 5W. So the answer to your questions changes. If you are held by production and you didn’t have a depth clause, then there is nothing you can do about it. I am stuck with quite a few of those myself with old 1/8th royalties from back in the 1930’s and my grandfather’s time. It’s a bummer.

If and when Chevron gets around to considering the lower reservoirs, you will probably get the royalty as your earlier lease. We can only hope that the OCC will eventually change the rules, but I highly doubt it.

Sorry for the confusion.

Continental filed a TON of leases in 2S4W during the last few months of 2014. Price dropped so nothing since then. They have three years to drill, so …

Roger, I am making a trip through Stephens County this week and will check on the well. I will post any news I get.

They’ve started fracing on the Poteet’s I’ve heard. One started on 2/3/15 and a couple on 2/5/15 and I believe another to start tomorrow. This is second hand information I heard from a friend. Not for sure on the dates but that’s close.

Someone told hubby this morning that Newfield was moving 2 more rigs to the SCOOP.

Halliburton laid off another several thousand I also heard. Something like 6,000 but it might have been 4,000. Sure hate that for those getting laid off. Hoping things pick up soon! Still lots of oil field traffics around these parts!

I don’t know what happened, but I haven’t been receiving the daily Mineral Blog posts and I feel really out of it! I just thought it had to be the calm before the storm! any news on Oceana that I have missed over the past two weeks? I received a picture from my cousin taken a week or so ago but I don’t know how to post it here. If anyone wants to see it, “friend” me, send your personal email and I will send it to you.

I thought CR might wait until the price of oil comes up some to frac the Poteets but I guess not. Glad for you guys!

Diane…if you have the picture in your documents you can go to the top of this blank where you put the post usually and click the paper clip and it should let you browse your documents and open the picture and post it on here. I believe that will work.

Just leased 23-2N-6W. Anybody know of any recent seismic or other interest/activity in this area?

My emails have been failing to go through.

Hubby says to tell you we appreciate it very much! He said “it must be nice to be smart”!

Done

Is 5000 MCF per day, a lot? A little? Average? I have no concept! but, Ed…Thanks so much for the update!

does production ever occur before completion? I Have never seen a completion report on Oceana yet the rumor is it is producing

Tell him I said thanks…smart at some things not at others. It’s like my Dad used to say “if you’re so smart why aren’t you rich?”

Thanks for the pictures John! They are beautiful! Joe

The Connell well is in the background.

Production definitely happens before the completion report gets filed.
