Gentry #1-11H-02X has surface location in southeast corner of sect 11, 3s4w. Lateral turns north with a bottom hole location in northeast corner of sect 02. Well is completed and awaiting frack, as are several wells in the area. I understand they are doing “zipper fracturing” now where the operators fracture several wells nearly simultaneously. Tanks and associated equipment is installed on the pad.
haha “fracking”
Connell #1-13H-12X is completed. Surface location is gated, so unable to get any photos. Got a few at the Gentry well and will post after I download them to my computer.
Lots of activity in Stephens County this weekend. I saw several active rigs in northeast and southeast corners of the County. I also saw several newly constructed drilling pads. Saw several rigs over in Johnston County as well.
JOHN, Thank you so much!!! Aleays interested in your report on Gentry and Connell and very interesting info on zipper tracking. Val Connell Carter
I believe they had taken down one of the rigs on the Honeycutts because I only counted 4 and there were 5 the last time.
Saw a rig up just southeast of the Newfield office which would be on section 23 2n4w I believe. It’s over around where they drilled the last Bolles wells but I don’t know which well that would be. Anyone?
Still a lot of work going on around the new Kelley wells on Section 14 and going through I believe it’s 11.
Nope, no new pads being built around section 34, 2n4w, boo hoo!!! Boy the roads are horrible down there so better get out those ATV’s!!! We took the truck and man was it bumpy!!!
jphn
thanks for update on Gentry well. where is the connell #1-13H-12X pad and where is well beginning and ending??

Hi John…Thanks for the report on the NE and SE corners of Stephens. Do you remember where the new pads were located in the NE corner? We’ve had so much going on lately that I haven’t made any late trips down to the diggings.
Glad we can help! That’s what family is for isn’t it? ~even if it’s forum family! You guys have all helped me so much from teaching how the process works to doing the math which is so hard for me. Yep, it shouldn’t be too long before you have that long awaited production. So excited for ya!
Hubby said our friend that works for Cudd Pressure Control said moods seemed to be more upbeat at work even though they are taking a small cut in salary until things pick up again. And they will pick back up-it’s just a matter of time! Have a Great Day Everyone!!!
K Dawn, Water flood and CO2 flood are secondary recovery methods. A good thing. My dad worked on these methods in the 60’s. Basically water or CO2 was injected around the permiter of a field forcing oil towards the existing wells. I’m hopefull someone has figured out similar recovery methods fore shale.
NFX is supposed to drill a Springer/Goddard well in Sect 9, 2N4W very soon. I am assuming surface location will be on one of the Wright well pads in north end of sect 16, but saw no evidence of that. Well is supposed to be named Virginia.
NFX is currently drilling a Springer well named Hatchett. Surface location in NW corner of Sect 9, 2N4W. Bottom hole located in Sect 33. I will post some photos of this well later.
You know the Jarred was supposed to go through 16 2n4w and 9 2n4w but for some reason they had to stop after only drilling through 16. So I guess this new well in 9 2n4w (Springer/Goddard) is so they can get what they originally went after. Jarred is a very good well (mostly oil) they tell me so maybe this new well will be also.
Yes, John, I’ll for sure let you know of any new rigs down there that I see go up.
Thanks Linda, maybe we’ll have some production by Mar 1. Got to be getting close, it’s been a month since you took those pictures. I appreciate everything you do for me and my cousins.
We made a quick trip down to the diggings and saw they are indeed fracing the Poteets. We talked to a guy that was leaving the location of one well (the east most one in section 17) and he said they were nearly through fracting that one and would probably finish (fracing) on it tomorrow. He said the one next to it to the west (Halliburton) had finished fracing and now there is a work over rig on it. Then we went around to the west side of the McElroy number 1 and went up that road up behind the compressor station and into where the other Poteet’s there. All were being fraced or looked as if they had been finished on the fracing part. So they will probably have the Flow Testers out there before long. Then you Poteeters can start the celebration! WOOT WOOT!!!
Hello everyone! Hope everyone is well. This might be my dumbest question yet. What would cause a water flood or CO2 flood?
Connell well surface location is in SE corner of Sect 13. Bottom hole location is NE corner of Sect 12. It will have a different production unit than the Gentry well.
